Hydraulic oil in top condition – now with rental equipment as well

Through Fluidservice Rental, HANSA-FLEX now offers equipment for oil analysis, purification and monitoring on a rental basis. Tailored to your needs, with no capital tied up and ready for immediate use.

Polluted or water-contaminated hydraulic oil is one of the most common causes of unplanned downtime and damage to hydraulic systems. Anyone wishing to resolve the problem themselves requires suitable equipment, such as filter systems, dewatering units and measuring instruments. However, purchasing such equipment is only worthwhile if it is used regularly. For businesses wishing to maintain their hydraulic systems in-house, HANSA‑FLEX now offers a cost-effective alternative: with the new Fluidservice Rental, companies can easily hire equipment for oil analysis, oil filtration and oil purification.

The rental service is aimed at businesses that have their own specialist staff and wish to carry out maintenance and servicing on their hydraulic systems themselves. “Specialist power units often end up gathering dust in a corner after their first use – as expensive paperweights. With the rental service, our customers avoid exactly that: they get the equipment when they need it and simply return it afterwards,” explains Felix Marschner, Head of HANSA‑FLEX Fluid Service.

From filter systems and oil separation to varnish removal, as well as measuring instruments and filling and flushing units: an extensive range of equipment ensures rapid availability and thus maximum flexibility for customers. All rental equipment is regularly serviced and thoroughly inspected by HANSA‑FLEX and is ready for immediate use. A particularly practical feature is that the rental period can be set individually, allowing it to be tailored perfectly to specific customer requirements.

The Fluidservice Rental complements HANSA‑FLEX’s existing range of services rather than replacing it. Customers who wish to continue having all their oil maintenance and system engineering carried out by HANSA-FLEX Fluid management can, of course, continue to do so. “The rental service is an additional option for businesses that wish to carry out certain tasks themselves and have the necessary expertise in fluid technology,” adds Marschner.

A comprehensive rental fleet for fluid services

The range includes various types of equipment, covering all standard tasks in fluid services.

Filter systems remove particulate contaminants from hydraulic oil. They are available in various sizes and filter grades and are selected to suit the system volume and the hydraulic technology used. Connection hoses are supplied as standard so that the units can be put into operation without delay.

Oil-water separators are used when water has entered the hydraulic oil. This is because water in the oil accelerates corrosion, causes cavitation, promotes bacterial growth and impairs the oil’s lubricating properties.

2/6

Varnish removal systems filter resinous deposits (varnish) out of the oil; these deposits form primarily in hydraulic systems subjected to high thermal loads and can damage sensitive valves and control systems.

3/6

Condition monitoring devices and measuring instruments enable the continuous monitoring of oil condition. A new combined device will also be available shortly, which filters and measures the current contamination level simultaneously, whilst displaying the relative humidity, temperature and cleanliness class in accordance with ISO 4406.

Filling and flushing units are also included in the rental range. Flushing units are an exception and are only available for hire in conjunction with the services of HANSA‑FLEX Fluid management technicians. Flow rates of 185–550 litres per minute at pressures of up to 280 bar can quickly cause significant damage if used incorrectly.

Oil sludge extractors and other cleaning equipment round off the range.

First the oil analysis, then the right equipment to hire

To ensure that the rental equipment achieves the desired results, a reliable basis is essential: oil analysis. Particles, water and varnish require different approaches and therefore different rental equipment and filter grades. The oil analyses carried out by HANSA‑FLEX Fluid Service show the condition of the hydraulic oil and where action is needed. “The majority of the findings fall within the yellow rating range. The condition is not yet critical, but countermeasures are advisable. The Fluidservice Rental is designed precisely for these situations. Along with the analysis report, customers receive specific guidance on which type of unit is suitable for their situation,” reports Marschner.

Advice and support throughout the entire rental period

Before a rental contract is finalised, a checklist is used to record technical details such as the hydraulic system, valve technology (magnetic, servo or proportional valves), tank size and filter requirements. The Fluid Service team checks the details professionally and advises the customer to prevent misuse and damage. “We check every enquiry before we send out a rental unit. If a customer specifies a small tank but wants to order a high-volume system, we call them. That’s not mistrust; it’s a sense of responsibility towards the customer and their hydraulic system,” comments Marschner. This is because, when using rental equipment, the customer alone is responsible for any damage to the hydraulic system. In addition to expert advice on equipment selection and application, HANSA‑FLEX also offers technical support throughout the entire rental period. The optional on-site service includes installation and training by experienced fluid service technicians, or – for simple applications – quick and flexible assistance via the Mobile Hydraulics Rapid Response Service. Delivery and collection of the rental equipment are also available.

Clear costs, clear responsibilities

Renting equipment not only offers flexibility in terms of equipment selection and rental duration, but also provides a transparent price list with full cost control. Only consumables, such as filter elements, are not included in the rental price and are charged separately. “When buying equipment, people often fail to consider the hidden costs of maintenance, electrical inspections and storage space, as well as the impact on fixed assets. With our new offering, customers pay only for the actual period of use and receive rental equipment in perfect technical condition, as we at HANSA‑FLEX take care of all maintenance,” says Marschner, summarising the benefits of the Fluidservice Rental. The result: maximum availability and predictable costs, even for demanding requirements.

A solution that addresses gaps in oil purification

In the past, companies with their own specialist staff who wished to maintain their hydraulic systems themselves were often faced with a choice: make a costly investment or forego measures to clean and recondition the hydraulic oil. The new HANSA‑FLEX Fluidservice Rental closes this gap and offers companies across all sectors new options for improving oil quality – and thus the reliability of their plant and machinery – on their own terms.
