Have you recognised it?

The cover photo shows the compressor of the CoBra high-temperature heat pump. Originally developed for shipbuilding, the turbocharger technology was adapted by the DLR for use in industrial heat pumps. As the central component of the system, the compressor compresses air using the Brayton cycle, thereby enabling the generation of process heat at temperatures exceeding 400 °C.

Justus Herbrich shows the turbocharger, one of the key components of this innovative heat pump, which reaches a speed of 110,000 revolutions per minute.
