Between growth boom, strategic decisions about locations and great potential: HANSA-FLEX Ibérica is in position for the next growth phase in one of the most dynamic markets in Europe.

Est. reading time is 7 minutes

HANSA‑FLEX has been active in Spain for 20 years. What began in 2005 as a means of bringing the experience and quality of the HANSA‑FLEX Group closer to the Spanish market has developed into a country organisation that profits from the economic dynamics of the country – and actively contributes to them.

A land on the economic up-and-up

Sun, beach, tapas: For many people, Spain is first and foremost a holiday country. However, the Iberian country has developed economically into a truly major player over the years: with a rate of economic growth that is regularly way above the average for the eurozone, Spain has established itself as the zone’s fourth-largest national economy and a clear “locomotive for growth”. “Spain is often underestimated because people’s first thought is holidays. Economically, however, the country is one of the most dynamic markets in Europe and this is exactly what we can see in our business,” says Alberto López Pérez, Country Manager of HANSA‑FLEX Ibérica, in describing the prevailing economic conditions. This is the environment in which HANSA‑FLEX has been active since 2005, growing continuously since then into a reliable technical partner for industry. Today, over 50 people work at four locations in Spain, striving everyday to live up to this reputation.

A year full of strategic course setting

The current 2026 financial year marks an important turning point for HANSA‑FLEX Ibérica. In February, the company headquarters relocated to Eibar in the Basque Country, there followed a move for the Manresa branch to Barberà del Vallès in July, while August saw the renovation and expansion of the branch in Alcalá de Henares. “Every one of these decisions was in pursuit of the same vision: we wish to be closer to our customers and able to react even more quickly to the industry-specific requirements in each region. Therefore, we have deliberately invested in establishing more immediate access for our customers, in the expansion of our locations and in additional warehousing and workshop capacity,” explains López Pérez. The new headquarters creates room for further growth, boosts the performance of the country organisation and improves product availability. The new location in Barberà del Vallès brings more industrial potential and logistics reserves, while the expanded branch in Alcalá de Henares shortens response times for customers.

A country with many faces

HANSA‑FLEX Ibérica’s customers come from a wide range of industries: railway engineering, manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, recycling and disposal, the food sector, energy, steel and paper industries, automotive as well as transport and logistics. One thing unites all these industries: they rely on fault-free operation. It is our job to deliver reliable hydraulics and pneumatics solutions as well as specialist technical advice so that our customers can keep their plant and machinery running, optimise their processes and minimise stoppages. We want to be more than a supplier, we want to be a technical partner that creates long-term value,” says López Pérez, summing up the position of the country organisation.

From track to field

Where Spain grows, HANSA‑FLEX Ibérica wishes to grow too. The company brings the necessary know-how, e.g. of electro-hydraulic braking systems or ducting for modern air conditioning systems, to assist in the expansion of Spain’s 4,000 km long AVE, Europe’s largest high-speed train network. “We know the relevant railway industry standards and support our customers with everything from the choice of products to repairing rolling stock directly on the tracks,” says López Pérez. Rapid assistance is also in demand on many construction sites and port expansion projects: if excavators, cranes or concrete pumps break down due to a hydraulic fault, HANSA‑FLEX can be there to assist with its mobile Rapid Hydraulic Service and Workshop Container Service. “On site, every minute of downtime counts. Therefore, we bring the workshop to the machine and not the other way round,” explains López Pérez. The company also has the required expertise in cooling circuits, emergency power equipment and robust fluid connection technology for the dynamically growing data centre sector.

“Our growth is measured not only by our number of branches or our investment. The trust that our customers place in us every day is crucial. Our goal is continual further development to offer an even greater proximity of service provision, still more rapid reaction capabilities and the technical support that our customers need to keep their businesses running.”

Growth with a clear roadmap

“Our goal is to grow sustainably, strengthen our presence in the Spanish market and expand both our service network and our technical capabilities. We are investing further in our employees, in specialist training and in new equipment so that we can offer a service that is tailor-made to be even closer, more efficient and perfectly matched to the needs of each and every individual industry and customer,” says López Pérez. This includes the establishment of a mobile Rapid Hydraulic Service, which up to now did not exist in Spain. We are focusing in particular on the railway engineering, data centres, construction and agriculture sectors with the aim of establishing HANSA‑FLEX Ibérica as a permanent major player in hydraulics and pneumatics solutions.
